Hello, I'm Amy, and welcome to Mantolii, my small art business born from my passion for art and sustainability. Having grown up in the scenic landscapes of Wales, and now living in rural France, I have long felt a deep connection to nature. Inspired by the Welsh word “Mantoli,” meaning to balance, the name reflects the heart of my work: a pursuit of harmony between material and form, process and planet, creativity and conscience.
I create each piece primarily from recycled paper, using the timeless technique of papier mâché. I complement this with other carefully sourced sustainable materials whenever possible. The result is artwork with a distinct, natural, stone-like texture, evoking the quiet strength and grounding beauty of the natural world.
My process is deeply connected to nature. I allow each piece to dry slowly in the sun, embracing the changing weather as an active element in the creation. This patient method brings a unique rhythm to my work and ensures that every artwork carries a sense of time, light, and environment within it.
